 I was raised in the “Orinda bubble.” I really never felt the need or desire to venture too far away from this small town. It feels safe and inviting and has a “Cheers” feeling to it, where soon, everyone knows your name. Your day to day life can easily be lived in this wonderfully small town. You can conveniently visit the banks, grocery stores, drug stores, cleaners, library, hardware store, nail salon, day spa, fitness center, toy store, book store, gift shops, etc. all in downtown Orinda. And, if you need a change of pace, you are minutes away from Berkeley, Piedmont, Oakland, Lafayette and Walnut Creek. Plus if you want to venture into “the big city” San Francisco is only about 20 miles away and easily accessible via BART or car. Many people who commute into San Francisco choose Orinda for its proximity to the city and easy BART commute. That coupled with the schools and weather is tough to beat. Orinda truly does have a “small town” feel while still providing all the things you need to live your busy lives. Did I mention…I love Orinda! |
